Master of Education in World Language Instruction

Nobody does language instruction better than Concordia. Concordia’s language program is so successful because it combines expert, native-speaking faculty with extensive study abroad experience and the opportunity for students to teach and learn at the world-famous Concordia Language Villages.

Expanding on our extraordinary commitment to global fluency, Concordia is proud to announce a new Master of Education in world language instruction. The program will combine summer instruction at Concordia Language Villages – the world’s premier language and cultural immersion program – with a rigorous online curriculum culminating in an independent research thesis.

More than theory, you will “Live the Language Village experience” and find new ways to make language come alive for your students. The small group size of only 8 to 12 students per cohort will allow instructors to adapt coursework to address the needs of individuals and their particular classroom situations. There will be ample time for you to share ideas, ask questions, and discuss relevant issues and concerns in second language teaching and learning.

The effective use of technology is woven into the program to address how young people are processing and sharing information today. Students will not only learn about current technology but, in keeping with the Language Village philosophy of learning by doing, will use these technologies to complete the online portion of the program during the academic year.
